The Morongo Band of Mission Indians formed a group called the California Tribal Intrastate Internet Poker Consortium. It is one of the largest casino gaming tribes. According to recent reports lately, the California Indian tribes will be pushed next month.

The deal from the Commerce Casino together with the Bicycle club is being worked out by the Morongo to pursue the online poker in California. According to the Morongo’s spokesperson, Patrick Dorinson, they have been asking added support from different tribes to pursue with the deal that fell apart due to the issues that risen that it was rush through the legislative process.

One of the most influential groups, California Tribal Business Alliance has shown their disagreement in the proposal. They claim that it could violate the exclusivity clauses in gaming compacts with the casino tribes.

There are around 1.4 million Californians enjoying poker in an online poker via offshore websites. The proposal seems to gather potential revenue streams for the state and the Senate Governmental Organization Committee will take up all the questions about this online poker on the 9th of February.
Invitations have been distributed and speakers for February 9 are all ready to support the hearing. However, the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act (UIEGA) prohibits the use of credit cards and all fund transfer for the illegal online gambling except for the intrastate internet gambling.

Legislation of online poker has been a long process in the United States and a new supporter came out of his way to help this legislation by supporting the bill. Barney Frank has done something in order for the Internet Gambling Regulation, consumer Protection, and Enforcement Act to get considerations in the House of Representatives.

Representative Peter King as the former Chairman and a current ranking Republican on the Homeland Security Committee will give his support that will provide ease concerning the Congress. He wants to stress out that online poker does not offer such benefits like serving as a facilitator of money laundering and terrorist activities. Peter King’s stands as a senior member of the Republican Party, he can bring other Republicans to stand beside him supporting the official legislation of online poker.

King also supports Barney Frank’s bill that counter balances the claims of Representative Spencer Bachus that focused on the money-laundering possibilities of online poker. He also stressed that he did not notice any homeland security or threats for the regulation of the online poker.

With a good reputation and a good understanding in the issue, Peter King as well as his position in the Homeland Security Committee can make a strong stand in regulating the internet poker as legal and fight against allegations in regards to money laundering and fraud.

Someone from the high rankings of the Federal Bureau of investigation (FBI) asserted that internet poker is prone to fraud and manipulation.

A note written by Sawn Henry, FBI Assistant Director to Alabama Representative Spencer Bachus has declared: “There are several ways to cheat at online poker, none of which are legal,”

He also said, “Technology exists to manipulate online poker games in that it would only take two or three players working in unison to defeat the other players who are not part of the team,”

Henry continued to declare. “The online poker vendors could detect this activity and put in place safeguards to discourage cheating, although it is unclear what the incentive would be for the vendor.”

The correspondence which was written in November 13 was set off today in an investigation on Internet gambling by a high ranking Republican on the House of Financial Services Committee. The bill is currently being observed.

The chairman of the committee in the person of Barney Frank has made a bill to stop the UIGEA or Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act. The investigation focuses on the disadvantages and advantages of online poker and internet gambling and the committee will think about regulating online gambling in the future.

On today’s trial concerning the bill, many large gambling and technology institutions stated that illegal practices in the net are forbidden. Issues with regards to money laundering, gambling of minors and identity theft were not that common these days.

It’s been a while since the PPA or the Poker Players Alliance has seen steps to improve the gaming experience of American poker players. The passing of the UIGEA has definitely starved the people in the United States who wanted to play poker online. This is due to the fact that the UIGEA has categorized poker along with other non-skilled gaming in the internet world.

At the moment people assume that they are obtaining what they desired when the Democrats took over the House in 2006, however, what occurred was not the direction they desire to take.

Nowadays, countless people believed that the House of Representatives would be the one to put an end to the UIGEA and will begin on making the online poker industry legal and regulated plus making the side note of taxing the whole online gambling industry.

Even if Barney Franklin’s bill has a great deal of cosponsors in Congress it has bring to a standstill. It only implies that passing a bill to go against the UIGEA will take time and will not be easy.

Nevertheless it was the reprieve of the PPA to gain the one more supporter in the person of New Jersey Senator Robert Menendez when he passed the Internet Poker and Games of Skill Regulation, Consumer Protection and Enforcement Act.

This act is an enormous substitute when the UIGEA is concerned because it does not forbid online poker operations but has the agenda to make poker legal and regulated, same with other skill related online games.

The bill has made a lot explanation regarding the present arguments about online gambling. As an illustration this bill will mandate the government for the list of online gambling operations that are not listed so that they can implement more authority upon them and it also uses the current progress in technology in order to weaken the rampant gambling of underage people.

It will also serve in improving the funding for gambling counseling and also permits the compilation of taxes from registered online poker operations. It will also assist in the explaining of the Wire Act to avoid illegitimate seizures of fund from happening in the future.

It’s been a long time since the UIGEA legislation suck out the demands of poker players in the United States to have online gambling legalized. The PPA or Poker Players Alliance has been pushing reforms and bills in order to erase the negative feelings poise by the UIGEA. The UIGEA has been discriminately grouping poker with other kinds of gambling which is not fair because poker is more a skill game compared to other online games which are purely based on luck.

But at present it seems like that the change people look forward since 2006 has been started even though not in the same way as they have expected.

A lot of people thought that the House of Representatives would be the one to charge in overthrowing the UIGEA and then will try to authorize legal laws, regulations and taxations on the online poker industry along.

The problem is that the bill passed by Barney Franklin was stopped. Even though it already had 50 cosponsors, it is clear that the bill will take time in order to be passed fully at the house.

Luckily at the same time, New Jersey Senator Robert Menendez brings out the Internet Poker and Games of Skill Regulation, Consumer Protection and Enforcement Act which was accepted gladly by the PPA.

This act is a guideline to legalize and regulate the game of poker and other online game of skill instead of going into an all out banned like the UIGEA does.

This bill may help a lot to clear out things about the ongoing debate on online gambling. If passed through the house, this bill will assists in asking the government to get a list of all the unregistered online gambling operations in order for them to be regulated and then get the help of technology to thwart underage teens to gamble online.

It will also aid to boost funding in order to help in counseling for gamblers and it will also aid in tax collection on all online poker companies. This bill also wants to explain the Wire Act to stopped illegitimate fund seizures from happening all over again.
